It seems that facebook maybe using algorithms to allow more engaging apps to invite more friends per day than less engaging or potentially spammy viral apps.

This will allow quality applications to spread faster, rather than simply limited all apps with a single broad stroke. Yet another great tip off from Nick O'Neil
